The School Board of Brevard County, Florida, henceforth referred to as the District or School Board is accepting sealed responses for Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems Maintenance, Test & Inspections. Perform testing, inspection, repair and maintenance of all the (approx. 100) kitchen hood fire suppression systems owned/operated by BPS. This service work shall be performed in compliance with the following applicable sections: N.F.P.A. 17A Standards for Wet-chemical Suppression Systems, N.F.P.A. 96 Standards for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations, The State Requirements for Educational Facilities (Chapter 5), and as prescribed by the following Florida Statutes: 633.061 Requirements for Service License or Permit, 633.056 Requirement for Installation, Inspection and Maintenance, 633.071 Requirements for Standard Service Tagging, and 633.162 Disciplinary Action/Revocation of License or Permit. The purpose of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to solicit competitive sealed Bids to furnish Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems Maintenance, Test & Inspections to be used as noted by The School Board of Brevard County, Florida. This Specification establishes the minimum requirements for this solicitation, listed and described in the body of these specifications, to be used as noted. SCOPE OF WORK The work covered by this section of the specifications includes the semi-annual inspection, maintenance, twelve (12) year hydrostatic testing and certification of a total of 99 different hood suppression systems as herein specified Attachment "A". Inspection, maintenance and testing of the kitchen hood fire suppression systems, equivalent to UL 300 wet chemistry system protocol and in compliance with applicable sections of the most recent revisions of N.F.P.A. 17 and N.F.P.A. 17A, State Requirements for Educational Facilities, manufacturer's specifications and Florida Statutes: o 633.061 Requirements for Service License or Permit o 633.065 Requirement for Installation, Inspection and Maintenance o 633.071 Requirements for Standard Service Tagging o 633.162 Disciplinary Action/Revocation of License or Permit. The School Board of Brevard County, Florida reserves the right to disqualify proposals upon evidence of collusion with intent to defraud, or other illegal practices to include circumventing or manipulating the process in a manner that conflicts with applicable law, upon the part of the respondent(s), respondent's employees or agents, the District's Professional Consultant(s), or Consultant's agents, or any District employee(s) who may, or may not, be involved in the development of specifications and/or firm schedules. Multiple proposals from an individual, partnership, corporation, association (formal or informal) or respondent under the same or different names shall not be considered. In case of failure on the part of the Bidder to complete the work within the time(s) specified in the Contract, or within such additional time(s) as may be granted by formal action of the School Board or failure to prosecute the work, or any separable part thereof, with such diligence as will ensure its completion within the time(s) specified in the contract or any extensions thereof, the School Board will suffer damage, the amount of which is difficult, if not impossible to ascertain. Therefore, the Bidder shall pay to the School Board, as liquidated damages, the sum of $200 for each calendar day of delay that actual completion extends beyond the time limit specified until such reasonable time as may be required for final completion of the work.
