The purpose of this (ITB) is to solicit competitive sealed bids to provide Exhaust Hood System Inspection and Cleaning Services. This Specification establishes the minimum requirements for this solicitation, listed and described in the body of these specifications, to be used as noted. The intent of this bid is to secure firm fixed pricing for exhaust hood system and related equipment inspection and cleaning services to be used on an as needed basis. School kitchen, cafeteria, and culinary arts lab/classroom hoods, grease removal devices, fans, ducts, plenums, and other related ventilation related infrastructure and equipment shall be periodically inspected to determine the extent of accumulated grease and oil residue inside the hood ventilation system. To prevent fire hazard, per NFPA 96 Standard, sections contaminated with excessive grease and/or oil residue shall be cleaned to bare metal at frequent intervals prior to the surface becoming heavily contaminated with grease or oily sludge. The District reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in proposals, providing such action is in the best interest of the District. Minor irregularities are defined as those that have no adverse effect on the District's best interests, and will not affect the outcome of the selection process by giving the respondent an advantage or benefit not enjoyed by other respondents.
