SCOPE OF WORK 5. General Information A. Work under these specifications are under the jurisdiction of the CHP, who will execute the contract documents, coordinate with the Contractor as necessary, and conduct inspections to insure the work is being done in strict accordance with the specifications. No deviations from these specifications will be permitted without concurrence and subsequent authorization from the CHP Facilities Coordinator. B. Contractor shall notify the CHP On-Site Contact of the date and time the service is to be performed one (1) week prior to the actual work. C. Contractor shall sign in/out with the CHP On-Site Contact upon each service call to provide verification the service has been provided. D. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service locations. Any damage caused by Contractor to State equipment, materials, or other property shall be repaired or replaced by Contractor to the satisfaction of the State at no cost to the State. The State may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof. E. Contractor shall remove all materials left as a result of the work shall be removed. F. All quotations for additional services not covered under this Agreement shall be provided to the State at no cost to the State. 6. Semi-annual Services shall include: A. Perform coolant flush including new coolant, belts, hoses, thermostats, and radiator cap. B. Replace battery (write replacement date on battery). C. Perform complete tune-up on engine to include replacing spark plugs, changing the oil and all filters (i.e. coolant, air, fuel and oil). Sample the anti-freeze coolant in the engine and supply a report. Blow out the generator/alternator with dry nitrogen. Check the controller and all engine safeties. Clean and adjust the voltage relays. Lubricate the transfer switch mechanism with dry lubricant made for electrical devices. D. Adject the valves. E. Check the four (4) injectors and adjust the timing and rack. F. Service the battery and record the levels. G. Check the oil level after oil change is complete. Check belt tension. H. Check the water and anti-freeze levels after tune-up is complete. I. J. Drain the sediment off the fuel filters and day tank. K. Check the battery charger. L. Test run system under building load. M. Check for leaks, make a visual inspection, and make minor adjustment N. Touch-up paint, if necessary, to prevent equipment from rusting. SCOPE OF WORK 7. Annual Services Shall include: A. 480 Hour Service 1. Adjust the valves 2. Check the four (4) injectors and adjust timing and rack 3. Perform a complete tune up on the engine B. Load Bank Service Provide the resistive load back service annually and pre-arrange the time of load bank service with the On-site Commander and Facilities Coordinator. This is typically a two-hour testing process to be done annually. 8. Maintenance / Inspection Services The Contractor shall perform all maintenance/inspection services as specified herein and as necessary to maintain the optimum level of efficiency for each specified piece of equipment, including any necessary repairs and parts replacement. All parts requiring replacement will be replaced in accordance with the Parts Replacement Section specified herein. All services performed by Contractor are to be inspected by the State after completion. The State is solely responsible for determining acceptability of the work performed and the operability of the equipment. 9. Miscellaneous Repairs There are no monies in this contract for miscellaneous repairs. If during routine maintenance, the need for repair is discovered, the Contractor shall provide a legible, detailed proposal to repair the equipment. This will include a list of all parts required, cost per item, substantiation of Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), the estimated number of hours required to complete the repairs, and applicable sales tax. This will include which equipment is being repaired. NO WORK shall commence without Facilities Section approval of the cost for repair. No repair work can be charged to this contract, another contracting process will be used to fund any repairs needed.
