Renovation of a municipal facility in Laurel, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
This solicitation is to establish contracts with qualified contractors to perform general construction services for building renovations and facility upgrades at Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) facilities located throughout Prince George's County and Montgomery County, Maryland. The awarded contractors will provide all labor, supervision, materials, tools and equipment, transportation, expertise, and incidentals to perform work in accordance with all terms, specifications, conditions, and provisions of this solicitation, and Task Order statements of work. CONTRACT TERM: The base term of the Contract shall be for a period of three (3) years. The contract may be extended for one additional two-year option, or any portion thereof, at the sole option and discretion of the Commission. The scope of work includes a broad range of minor and major building construction, renovations, and improvements to occupied office buildings. Construction projects may include but are not limited to new construction (e.g., foundations, canopies, retaining walls, enclosures, etc.), rehabilitation, or renovation work at all WSSC Water facilities and leased spaces. Projects may include, but are not limited to floorings, ceiling, lighting, mechanical and electrical upgrades, plumbing renovations, reconfiguration of interior spaces, accessibility improvements, and general building repairs. Design for these projects will be provided by a separate architectural/engineering firm. Task orders will be issued individually and may vary in scope and complexity. Contractors will be required to mobilize quickly, coordinate work with facility operators, and maintain a high standard of quality and safety throughout all phases of construction. The Contractor shall be responsible and required to perform multi-disciplinary work to include but not limited to new construction, rehabilitation, full or in-place renovation and remediation. The work may require ancillary work including but not limited to facility maintenance modification, structural, civil, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work. These works include but not limited to demolition, structural framing, gypsum wall board and thermal insulation, miscellaneous carpentry, metal fabrication, point repairs, finishing (floor and wall), appliance insertion and furniture. The Contractor shall be required to update the Commission provided asset registry database. The asset registry is a spreadsheet that capture all assets provided during the project. The Contractor may be required to obtain all necessary permits, develop safety type plan(s), coordinate with private utilities providers and services to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credential for new facility construction.
