Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Cruz, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of January 13, 2026, this project has been awarded and construction is expected to start in the coming days. An interior renovation and partial façade upgrade of the Bay Tree Bookstore. The building will be converted from a bookstore into: a mixed-use food service location, campus store, and study space on the first floor, a new student resource centers on the second floor, The third floor will be largely untouched, except for elevator and stair extensions, upgrades to corridor lighting, and terrace waterproofing upgrades. Requests for clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall be received no later than 2:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2025 and addressed only to: José Sánchez, AIA, Principal Architect University of California, Santa Cruz Physical Planning, Development & Operations 1156 High Street, Barn G Santa Cruz, CA 95064 sanchezj@ucsc.edu The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B General Building Contractor The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage ($15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
