Question Deadline 07/28/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Document Notes : Bidders may obtain complete copies of the plans, project manual and specifications from Urban Engineering, It is recommended that Bidders obtain a complete copy of the Bidding Documents from Urban Engineering to submit a bid. the General Conditions within 14 calendar days after the date of substantial completion. Small and minority businesses, women owned business enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. The project consists of the construction of a vinyl bulkhead, timber docks, and a concrete sidewalk at Smith Harbor in Port Lavaca, Texas. Bidders must submit a bid bond, cashier's or certified check payable without recourse to the order of the City of Port Lavaca, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid submitted as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute bonds and guarantee in the forms provided within fifteen (15) days after Notice of Award of contract to him. Bids submitted without the required security will not be considered. The successful Bidder will be required to purchase and furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of the contract, written by a responsible surety company, authorized to do business in the State of Texas, as required by Article 5160, V.A.T.C.S., as amended by H.B. 344, passed by the 56th Legislature, Regular Session, 1959. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions.
