The intent of this Request for Qualification (RFQ) is to seek statements of qualifications (Responses) from parties (the Respondents) interested in providing construction services for the building of the retaining wall at Production Way Operation Center Facility. More specifically, the intent of this RFQ is to short-list up to (4), four Respondents to participate in a Tender for this construction services; however, the Corporation reserves the right to short-list a greater number of Respondents. Metro Vancouver acquired a building located at 2751 Production Way, Burnaby, BC with the intent of renovating it to accommodate a variety of working groups. The building was built in the early 1980’s and was used as a warehouse and is 9 m in height covering an area of approximately 9,165 m2. To improve site access, a retaining wall will be built along the north side of the building. This scope of work for which the successful Respondents will be invited to bid is to provide construction services of the retaining wall at 2751 Production Way. The wall is 177 m long, up to 9.5 m high, and will be constructed of shotcrete and reinforced cast-in-place (CIP) concrete. The work will include excavation, construction of the wall, installation of wall anchors, protection of adjacent utilities and production of record drawings. The wall is generally along the edge of a BC Hydro Right-of-Way containing buried and overhead power lines. The scope of work will also include the construction of a stormwater drainage system to be installed in the parking lot surrounding the building.
