Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Cary, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The Town of Apex, North Carolina, is seeking the services of a qualified engineering or architectural firm, or team of firms, to provide professional engineering and/or architectural services to provide ADA accessible routes to and the renovation of the front playground of Apex Community Park. This project will replace the existing play equipment with an inclusive playground that features ADA-accessible ramps and walkways from adjacent parking lots. Located. The Scope of Services includes activities for preparing a Site Plan for the park through public engagement with stakeholders and obtaining an Exempt Site Plan approval through the Town's Technical Review Committee as well as construction design and construction administration services. The following is a breakdown of the services requested by the Town of Apex. We welcome additions and modifications to this format if the proposing firm feels new concepts, greater detail or clarification would be helpful. However, please address the minimum information noted. o Renovations will include replacement of all existing playground equipment with accessible equipment for fully inclusive play. o Existing surfacing will also be replaced with new poured-in-place, synthetic turf, or other acceptable surfacing to improve accessibility, increase longevity, and reduce replacement time and costs o New ADA-compliant ramps and walkways to improve access to the playground from the parking lots and existing shelter. o Developing plan with the intent to maximize funding opportunities or partnerships such the National Demonstration Site, PARTF, or other. o Opportunities for and the inclusion of shade components into the design for a minimum of 50% of the area, where existing tree canopy does not provide protection. - Propose clear tasks and explain the approach to carry out developing the Master Plan for Apex Community Park: ADA Access & Playground Renovation, along with preparing and submitting for approval of site plans and construction drawings, bidding/ award and construction administration. Show opportunities for the requested public engagement, and requirements for client coordination and review. Describe your firm's approach to construction administration and how you ensure you will meet the Town's objectives in terms of schedule, cost control, and quality control. Summarize the basic approach to providing the services, and any recommendations on improving efficiencies in the process. Provide the names of the staff that will be assigned to complete each task. Summary Timeline- Include a timeline for completion of each task, identifying milestones for public engagement and deliverables. Litigation- Describe any previous litigation or arbitration in which your firm has been involved in the past five (5) years and the outcome. A summary of inquiries and responses will not be provided. The Town of Apex reserves the right to select the most responsible and responsive proposal submittal which it finds to be within the best interests of the Town, based on the criteria described in this Request for Qualifications. The Town of Apex will select the most qualified and responsive firm based on the combined evaluation of five staff members. The Town reserves the right to schedule interviews if needed after evaluating proposals. North Carolina, Women and/ or Minority owned firms qualified to do the work will be given priority consideration. A North Carolina firm is a firm that maintains an office in North Carolina staffed with an adequate number of employees judged by the Town to be capable of performing a majority of the work required. The Town of Apex reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to consider alternatives, to wave irregularities and to re-solicit proposal submittals. All proposal submittals must be valid for a minimum period of ninety (90) days after the date of the proposal submittal opening. All materials submitted regarding the RFQ become the property of the Town of Apex and become public information. Responses may be viewed by any person at the proposal submittal opening time and after the final selection has been made. The Town is not liable for any costs incurred by those who have submitted proposal submittals prior to issuance of a signed contract. The contents from the selected firm will become contractual obligations if a subsequent agreement is reached. Failure of the selected firm to accept the.se obligations may result in cancellation of the award. The firm(s) selected will be notified by email. Notification will also be sent by email to firms not selected. The Town will award the contract to the selected firm based on successful negotiation of the fee for the required work. If unsuccessful, the Town may enter into negotiations and award the contract to another qualified firm *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The value range for this project is $500,000 to $1,000,000.
