sealed bids for: Osteen Elementary, Replace Gutters and Downspouts, will be received Location- 500 Doyle Rd Osteen, FL 32764 The general scope of the work is: a. Buildings 1 - 7; Remove existing sheetmetal gutters and downspouts, then replace with new pre-finished aluminum gutters and mill finished extruded aluminum downspouts per the project documents. b. Buildings 1, 3 & 4; Install new pre-finished aluminum gutters and mill finished extruded aluminum downspouts per the project documents at new locations. A310 Bid Bond Included(The following sentence applies if the A310 Bid Bond is included for this project) Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to five(5)percent of the total bid. Bidders for this project are required to hold a current Certificate of Prequalification issued by the School Board of Volusia County Florida at the time of the Bid opening. To pre-qualify contact Purchasing, 200 North Clara Avenue, Deland Florida 32720; telephone (386)734-7190. All bids shall be binding for a period of 60 calendar days from the date of the Bid opening or until School Board approval of the bid, whichever occurs first. The bid amount of the successful bidder,once approved by the School Board, shall not be subject to change or withdrawal. The School Board reserves the right to reject any one or more bids as provided by law. CONSTRUCTION TIME: Ninety (90) consecutive calendar days 1. Campus wide removal of existing gutters and downspouts, then replacement with new materials at existing locations and as indicated by the documents. a. Remove existing gutters and downspouts at all locations, existing fascia trim and metal roof drip edge to remain in place. b. Clean out and test existing stormwater connections to ensure there is no blockage, proper operation and piping is free of debris. Existing PVC lidcovers to be removed, clean and prepared as needed to install adapters. c. Install new pre-finished aluminum gutters and extruded aluminum downspouts in sequence per the project details. Connect downspouts to the existing stormwater drainage system and provide adapters as required. 1) New gutter and downspout locations to be field verified to avoid obstructions 2) Downspouts draining onto flat roof areas to receive a new concrete splashblock with protective membrane pad. 3) Downspouts draining onto existing metal panel walkway to be provided with an aluminum drainage distribution trough to allow or more even water discharge across the walkway system. 4) Downspouts draining onto grade to receive a new concrete splashblock, unless draining onto a hard surface. 5) Replace existing gutter splashguards at Building 5 with new. 6) Install four (4) new cast-in-place concrete trench drains at the existing concrete sidewalks to route new downspout discharge to adjacent traffic surface as indicated per plans. d. Repair any damaged finish to the existing standing seam metal roof or fascia panel resulting from work of this project upon completion. Clean and restore the site to pre-project conditions as directed by the Owner. This scope is intended to define work required to remove and replace the existing gutter and downspouts campus wide at existing locations and include additional gutters and downspouts at new locations . CAMPUS PLAN (FOR REFERENCE) GENERAL ROOF NOTES, ROOF COMPONENT FASTENING SCHEDULE & ABBREVIATIONS 1. Remove existing gutters and downspouts at existing locations. 2. Install new pre-finished aluminum gutters as indicated per details provided at existing locations. Provide bracket mounted gutter system with expansion joints. 3. New extruded aluminum downspouts at existing locations. Downspouts to be reconnected to stormwater system where existing. 4. Building 1 (South Side) - New gutter location along perimeter. New downspouts to be connected to new stormwater transitioning through sidewalk. Sidewalk to be partially excavated to install new pre-manufactured metal trench assembly draining to street. 5. Building 1 (East Side) - Existing downspout locations draining to walkway canopy to be routed to grade and connected to nearby stormwater system. 6. Building 3 (South Side) - New gutter location along perimeter. Downspouts located as indicated per plans and drain at grade. 7. Building 4 (East Side) - New gutter location along perimeter. New downspouts to be connected to new stormwater transitioning through sidewalk. Sidewalk to be partially excavated to install new pre-manufactured metal trench assembly draining to street. 8. Building 1 & 4 (Alternate) - New downspout stormwater connections to be connected to existing stormwater line in place of trenching sidewalk.
