Renovation of a military facility in Clyde River, Nunavut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Nasittuq Corporation provides Facilities Management services to the Department of National Defence (DND) at the Canadian Forces Station (CFS) in Alert, Nunavut. CFS Alert is located on the north end of Ellesmere Island, approximately 817 kilometers from the North Pole. CFS Alert is only accessible by aircraft. Non-military aircraft require prior DND clearance before being allowed to land at CFS Alert. In March of 2025, a sewer pipe broke in the HAPS Building crawl space. The spill was contained and cleaned up to the best of the ability with the limited resources on site. The area where the spill occurred is now covered with a white mould growth (about 1500 to 2000 ft2). Nasittuq does not have the capabilities to remove the mould, and it was decided to contract a specialist to remove the mould and ensure the area is safe.
