Description DPW - North Kent Transfer Station Barn Remodel The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting bids to remodel a barn located at Department of Public Works (DPW) North Kent Transfer Station, 2908 Ten Mile Road, Rockford, MI 49341. SCOPE The barn remodel will include removal and replacement of siding, roofing, soffit, fascia and trim. Replacement with like colored materials as other existing buildings onsite. The barn measures 40' x 52' with 16' tall sidewall. This scope of services shall include, but not be limited to the following requirements: Removal and replacement of siding, roofing, soffit, fascia, and trim with like colored materials as other existing buildings. Insulation: The current building is insulated. The finished product should have the same or better R-Value and performance functionality as the original. Insulation damaged during the steel removal process must be replaced. The contractor also has the option to remove all the insulation with the siding and replace it with similar product or spray foam designed for the application. Salvage, remove, and or replace electrical, venting, or mechanical apparatuses as necessary to install new steel siding, trim, and accessories. Building vents to be replaced with like materials. Overhead Doors o Steel Coil up door (8'x9'3 on east wall) to be removed and the opening framed and sided over. o Overhead door south Side: 16'x14' overhead garage door. Remove and provide new insulated garage door of the same size. o Barn Door west side: 12'x12' sliding barn door to be removed and insulated overhead garage door to be installed. One (1) Mandoor remove and replace existing with painted steel insulated door and hardware. Old materials can be disposed of onsite. DPW will provide dumpsters for metal recycling and trash disposal. Photos included for reference in Attachment A. Awardee required to obtain required permits. DPW desires the work to be completed by November 30, 2025. Once the project is started, work will be continuous until the point of completion.
