Time is of the essence in the performance of work under this contract. All work shall be completed in every detail to the satisfaction of the Engineer, exclusive of Maintenance Periods, within 100 working days after the commencement date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. Per Section 7 of the General Provisions, Subsection 7.24, the Liquidated Damages for failure of the CONTRACTOR to complete the work within the Contract Time set forth in Subsection 1.3.4 and Section 6, Notice to Proceed are in the sum of One thousand dollars ($1,000) per consecutive day in excess of the contract time.
