Gainesville Regional Utilities, known as GRU, is a multi-service utility owned by the City of Gainesville. We are the 5th largest municipal electric utility in Florida. Our combined services make us the most comprehensive utility service provider in the state. We serve approximately 100,000 retail and wholesale customers in Gainesville and surrounding areas, offering: Electric Natural gas Water Wastewater Telecommunications services GRU believes in maximizing its business partnership opportunities. The City of Gainesville d/b/a/ Gainesville Regional Utilities is requesting that any firm interested in participating in the RFI, respond by July 31, 2025 at 5:00 pm. All questions/inquiries related to this request should be directed to: Robbin Odowski Email: odowskirr@gru.com Archer - Parker transmission line: To rebuild the existing 230kV, 795 ACSR transmission line to support dual 230kV circuits using 1590ACSR wire from Duke Energy Florida's Archer Substation to GRU's Parker Substation. The length of the 230 KV Transmission Line in question is 2.53 miles. Contractor is to design the new dual circuit pole line, specify transmission structures, materials, and provide a complete design package for construction, that includes but is not necessarily limited to Framing, Assembly, Foundation, Plan and Profile, and Station drawings, as well as Stringing Charts. New steel direct embedded transmission structure with pier foundations and grounding. Perform foundation, steel, and loading calcs. Fabrication drawings by steel vendor. Revise foundation, layout, and grounding details. PROJECT EXECUTION Jobsite Project Kickoff Meeting A kickoff meeting will be held to introduce members of the project team and discuss the details of the project with GRU. Demolition Design: A demolition package shall be developed including drawings and sketches to indicate wiring, transmission poles, and other electrical devices to be removed. The demolition drawings shall be used only for construction and shall not become permanent drawings. The following drawings shall be included in the demolition design: One-Line Diagrams Layout & Section Cuts Drawings Plan View of transmission structures' removal in stages Layout and Controls Design: Once the demolition drawings are completed, new installation drawings shall be developed in AutoCAD that reflect the addition of new equipment. The following drawings shall be included in the installation design: One-Line Diagrams Layout Drawings Section Cuts Drawings Foundation details Grounding details Circuit List Bill of Materials A 30% Design Package will be submitted for review. GRU will have two (2) weeks to review and provide comments. The 30% Design Package will consist of the following: One-Line Diagrams Foundation Plan Electrical Layout Demolition Foundation Plan Demolition One-Line Diagram Demolition Layout Drawings A 60% Design Package will be submitted for review. GRU will have two (2) weeks to review and provide comments. The 60% Design Packages will consist of the following: Section Cuts Demolition Section Cuts Conduit & Grounding Details Steel & Foundation Details A 90% Design Package shall be issued to GRU electronically for review. GRU will have two (2) weeks to review and provide comments. Circuit/Conduit List Bill of Material After the drawings have been approved, one sealed electronic copy of the construction package shall be issued to GRU for reprography. The final bill of material (BOM) may be used by GRU to procure material after the IFC Package is submitted. After installation of the new equipment, any field modifications shall be incorporated into the design. After approval of these modifications, one electronic copy of the drawings shall be issued to GRU. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
