Project Scope: The project consists of the Civil Construction and other related Work indicated in the Drawings and Specifications. The project location is 629 North Street, Underwood, IA 51576. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified share draft in a separate sealed envelope, clearly marked "Bid Security", in an amount equal to three percent (3%) of the total amount of the bid. The certified or cashier's check shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or the certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the Underwood Community Schools. The work shall commence per the Bidding and Construction Schedule after receipt by the contractor of a written notice to proceed and shall be substantially completed on or before November 14, 2025, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Directors. The Work shall be finally completed by, and ready for final payment, on or before December 1, 2025, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Directors of the Underwood Community Schools. The board of Directors may consider and award bids at its meeting on August 11, 2025, held at the district office at 601 3rd Street, Underwood, IA 51576 or at a later meeting date set by the Board. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities as allowed by law and to hold and consider the bids for thirty (30) days after the date of the bid opening. The Bidder shall agree to hold their bonds open for thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications.
