The project consists of the General, Mechanical, and Electrical Construction and other related Work as indicated in the Drawings and Specifications. WP #1 General Trades - Awarded - KE Flex Contracting WP #2 Mechanical - Awarded - Camblin Mechanical WP #3 Electrical - Awarded - Superior Lighting WP 4 - Controls - Awarded - Engineered Controls A more detailed description of the kinds and approximate quantities of materials and types of construction for which bids will be received are set forth in the Bidding Documents prepared by SitelogIQ, Inc. The work shall commence per the Bidding and Construction Schedule after receipt by the contractor of a written notice to proceed and shall be substantially completed on or before August 14, 2026, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Directors. The Work shall be finally completed by, and ready for final payment, on or before September 18, 2026, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Directors of the Underwood Community Schools. All proposals must be made on official proposal forms furnished by the Architect/Engineer and submitted in a separate sealed and plainly identified envelope. FAX and email bids will not be accepted. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or certified share draft in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, in a separate sealed envelope marked as Bid Security. Successful bidders must furnish performance and payment bonds in the full contract amount. Contractors will be paid ninety-seven percent (97%) of the value of acceptable work completed at the end of the preceding month, and final payment within thirty-one (31) days after completion and acceptance by the Board. Bidders must provide a statement regarding resident status on the designated Bidder Status Form. All work must conform to the plans and specifications prepared by the Architect/Engineer, and bidders may examine these documents at the district administration office or obtain digital and paper copies through Rapids Reproduction. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board of Directors of the Underwood Community Schools, Iowa, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, the payment for labor and materials used in the project and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair for not less than one (1) year from the time of acceptance of said improvements by the Board of Directors of the Underwood Community Schools. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities as allowed by law and to hold and consider the bids for thirty (30) days after the date of the bid opening. The Bidder shall agree to hold their bonds open for thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening.
