As of August 13, 2025, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. No definite date for the rebid. The existing timbers of the cooling tower require selective replacement. This project will replace a portion of existing timbers during a maintenance outage that is already scheduled for October 18th through November 9th, 2025. There are two scopes of work to bid on. After evaluation of all bids, BED will select a single bid and its associated scope of work. Scope of work #1 Replace 50% of timbers in the cooling tower structure with Douglas Fir CCA pressure treated lumber. Quantities and dimensions of lumber for scope of work #1: 250 total 2"x4"x20' 250 total 2"x6"x20' 150 total 4"x4"x20' 150 total 4"x4"x10' All technical questions should be directed to Burlington Electric Department Purchasing Department (purchasing@burlingtonelectric.com) and must include the RFP Number in the Subject Line. Scope of work #2 Replace 25% of timbers in the cooling tower structure with Douglas Fir CCA pressure treated lumber. Quantities and dimensions of lumber for scope of work #2: 125 total 2"x4"x20' 125 total 2"x6"x20' 75 total 4"x4"x20' 75 total 4"x4"x10' The following requirements apply to both scopes of work: Removal and reinstallation of cooling tower fill media as necessary Removal and reinstallation of cooling tower components as necessary Clean up of debris Work must be 100% complete in the available time window October 18th through November 5, 2025. Pre-staging of materials prior to these dates may be acceptable and coordinated with BED. Material for the project will be supplied by the bidder All equipment rentals will be supplied by the bidder. Disposal of any chemicals used will be done by the bidder.
