The scope of work for the project includes but is not limited to; protection of the existing diversion dam and appurtenances, the radial gate bay and appurtenances, and the headworks and associated facilities; coordination of the work during dry up periods and wet up periods; coordination of the work wet up and dry up periods; coordination for earthwork construction; coordination with the Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project (P-MIP), the San Carlos Irrigation and Drainage District (SCIIDD), San Carlos Irrigation Project - Joint Works (SCIP-JW); coordination with the San Carlos Irrigation Project - Power Division for the protection of the existing utility overhead power lines in the area as well as coordination for scheduled power outages (if any), and other needs or requirements; maintaining Gila River deliveries; maintaining irrigation deliveries; irrigation water supply during construction; diversion and care of streams including the Gila River; dewatering; temporary construction of earthen or concrete features for isolation of the radial gate bay from river flows; soil erosion and sediment control; site clearing; removals; partial removal of existing structures; removal and replacement of existing chain link fence and handrail at radial gate deck; removal and salvage of the existing radial gate; removal of existing mechanical and electrical equipment for the radial gate; removal and replacement of the existing radial gate concrete operating deck; removal of existing steel flash boards along the diversion dam and replacement with stainless steel flash boards; removal of debris; excavation and embankment construction; concrete repairs and remediation of existing structures; reinforced concrete structures; installation of owner furnished split radial gate; mechanical; electrical; and other work. Bid Security is required in the form of a bid bond at ten percent (10%) of the total cost. Performance and Payment Bonds, if applicable, (Rating A9+) are required for construction in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and shall be furnished to the Department and/or Community prior to and as a condition precedent to commencement of work. Said bonds shall be in effect through the warranty period. Such Bonds shall name contractor as principal and the Community and Department as joint obligees.
