Design Professional Services for Partial Renovation Education Center, Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia. Valdosta State University has a proud 112-year legacy of preparing teachers to serve schools across Georgia. Since its founding in 1913 with a mission to train teachers, VSU has expanded to more than 150 academic programs, but teacher preparation remains a central and vital function of the institution. The existing Education Center, originally constructed in 1970, has not undergone a major renovation since its completion. This $5M ($3.7M SCL) renovation project will transform the Education Center into a modern, student-centered environment that supports collaborative, flexible learning. The redesigned spaces will encourage student engagement and collaboration both inside and outside of class, while also mirroring the kinds of contemporary educational environments future teachers will encounter in their own classrooms. By updating these facilities, the project will enable faculty to continue implementing innovative pedagogical methods, sustaining VSU's reputation for producing highly sought-after graduates who are ready to meet evolving teaching standards and performance expectations. Ultimately, the renovation will help prepare the next generation of educators and leaders to drive meaningful change in K-12 schools and positively impact communities across Georgia.
