Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to an educational facility in Bylas, Arizona. Completed plans call for the addition of a 400-room educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Fort Thomas Unified School District, #7 is in Graham County serving our K-12 Community. Mount Turnbull is located in Bylas, AZ, which is between Globe and Ft Thomas. This Project, Building 400 Classroom Additions at Mount Turnbull Elementary School, will be funded by a private donation received by the district. The move-in date is July 2026. Attendance at the prebid is mandatory. The site already has an existing school, and this new building will contain four classrooms that need to be integrated with the existing systems. The fire alarm system at the school is a Siemens. You are advised to bring your subcontractors with you to this prebid. This will be the only opportunity to visit the site as it is an occupied campus. There are currently two major road projects between the East Valley and Bylas, AZ. The ongoing work is separate from the US 60, Queen Creek, and Waterfall Canyon Bridges Replacement Project east of Superior, is open on Mondays. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on US 60, approximately 3 miles west of Miami, for roadway improvements: US 60 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction with alternating east- and westbound travel between mileposts 240 and 243 daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31, and from 5 a.m. to noon Friday, August 1. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone. An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph. This is the only opportunity to visit the site. A contract may only be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder that holds the type of license requested by the District and/or required in the scope of work. Bid Bond: An irrevocable bid security payable to Fort Thomas Unified School District, #7 in the amount of 10.00% of the total bid project cost is required. This security should be in the form of a bid bond, certified check, and must be scanned into the Vendor Questionnaire the District by the due time and date cited for this solicitation. The original must be in the District's possession within 48 hours of the opening of the bids. Performance Bond: The contractor shall be required to furnish an irrevocable security in the amount of 100.00% of the total contract price payable to Fort Thomas Unified School District, #7, binding the contractor to provide faithful performance of the contract. This security must be in the possession of the District within 48 hours after receipt of purchase order or other notice of award. The cost of this bond is itemized on the bid submittal form. Performance security shall be in the form of a performance bond, certified check or cashier's check. This security must be in the possession of the District within 48 hours after receipt of purchase order or other notice of award. If the contractor fails to execute the security document, as required, the contractor may be found in default and the contract terminated by the District. In case of default, the District reserves all rights to recover as provided by law. All performance bonds must be executed on forms substantially equivalent to the form included with this solicitation. This security must be in the possession of the District within 48 hours after receipt of purchase order or other notice of award. Payment Bond: The Contractor shall be required to furnish non-revocable security for the protection of all persons supplying labor and material to the contractor or any subcontractor for the performance of any work related to the contract. Payment security shall be in the amount of 100.00% of the total contract price and be payable to Fort Thomas Unified School District, #7. The cost of this bond is included in your base bid. Payment security shall be in the form of a payment bond, certified check or cashier's check. All payment bonds must be executed on forms substantially equivalent to the payment bond forms on file at the District and incorporated by this reference. This security must be in the possession of the District within 48 hours after receipt of purchase order or other notice of award. If the selected vendor fails to meet the substantial time requirements for the delivery and/or installed acceptable implementation of the project, liquidated damages of $750 per day may be assessed for each day beyond sunset 240 days after notice to proceed/PO date. However, should an unforeseen problem arise, an extension may be granted in writing at the discretion of FTUSD. Final completion must be sunset 260 days after notice to proceed. The project consists of a new classroom module at the existing elementary for the Fort Thomas School District, located at Bylas on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. The project consists of a classroom module, of integrally colored sandblast textured masonry, removal of existing and new slab on grade, wood roof structure, with lowslope single ply roofing and pitched metal roofing. Work includes all finishes and systems, as well as minor site work
