HBMD Administration Building Expansion BID/CONTRACT NO.: PNC2122804P1 P.E. #53273 Project No 2022-104, 18-8652 Broward County's Public Works Construction Management Division is expanding its Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division facility with a new 6,335 sq. ft. one-story addition to the existing 4,800 sq. ft. administration building. Located at 1600 Blount Road, the project includes modern upgrades such as impact-resistant windows and doors, a code-compliant fire sprinkler system, LED lighting, and a backup generator. Designed by Saltz Michelson Architects using BIM technology, the expansion will support 58 employees and aims to achieve LEED Silver Certification, aligning with sustainable building practices. the project will include a building addition on the north of the existing structure. The expansion will accommodate a total of approximately 58 employees (12 offices; 46 workstations). The scope of work also includes renovation to the existing building. The existing building scope includes new fire sprinklers, new acoustical ceiling tile replacement, and new LED lighting. There is some minor reconfiguration of the existing spaces, however, the break room and restrooms will remain. The existing doors and windows are not impact resistant; however, the building is equipped with hurricane shutters. Minor renovations to the existing building will include a tie-in to the new sprinkler system and ceiling re-work.
