Hard copies will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. The County reserves the right to reject all bids. The scope of this document is to establish the labor and material requirements for the Contractor to complete the work described below, and in this bid package in a professional and workman-like manner. 1.2. All work shall be done as indicated on the drawings and in strict accordance with all codes, laws and ordinances in effect at the site and the regulations of the federal, state, county and local authorities in jurisdiction. 1.3. The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, supervision, tools, equipment and insurance required for the satisfactory completion of work in accordance with the specifications, contract drawings and as hereinafter specified. The following brief description of work to be accomplished is not all-inclusive. The written Scope of Work shall not preempt the Contractor's responsibility to properly interpret the drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy. The Contractor's bid must include all work required by the drawings, specifications and contract documents. All work must be completed to the satisfaction of the Owner. 1.4. The Contractor shall provide a qualified, and competent project superintendent to be on site during construction until completion of the punch list. 1.5. Contractor shall note in their bid to Owner any discrepancies identified between the drawings, specifications and scope descriptions of this bid package. 1.6. Contractor shall coordinate their activities with other contractors on site. Owner's Site Representative shall be consulted as required. 1.7. Contractor shall be responsible for off-loading, uncrating, transporting to storage or job site, all Contractor purchased construction materials installed on this contract. The Owner shall designate specific laydown and storage areas. Security for the storage facilities shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Transportation of materials from the laydown/storage areas to the work area, as well as installation, shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. 1.8. Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, labor, tools, consumables, transportation, warehousing and supervision as required by the drawings, specifications and contract documents for successful completion of the work. Included under Contractor responsibility is the provision of all miscellaneous, expense type materials and supplies required for safe and successful completion of work. 1.9. The Contractor is responsible for the accuracy of all materials and equipment furnished by the Contractor. 1.10. All dimensions and elevations of existing site are provided for reference only. Contractor is to verify the accuracy of these dimensions and make the necessary adjustments prior to the fabrication of any new facilities to ensure that the new and existing facilities will properly interface. 1.11. If departure from the drawings is deemed necessary by the Contractor due to field conditions or other causes, details of such departures and reasons shall be promptly submitted to the Owner's Site Representative for consideration. Approval by the Site Representative is necessary before proceeding with any change. Written approval is necessary if a change in price is involved. 1.12. All designs included shall be followed by this Contractor. Additional detailing may be required to be performed by this Contractor. All final designs and details shall be approved by the Owner's Representative prior to installation. 1.13. Any costs of field changes that are necessary must be negotiated and agreed upon before work begins or invoicing for this work will not be honored. 1.14. No materials used in the final constructed facility shall contain asbestos. 1.15. All equipment, material, hardware or devices not specifically designated as supplied by Owner shall be provided by the Contractor. This applies to any items shown on the drawings or in the specifications. 1.16. Where specifications or General Notes do not exist for work shown on the drawings or in the Scope of Work, the Contractor shall install the new work consistent with the type or facilities already existing in the building. If no similar facility exists, Contractor is to submit a specification for Owner's approval prior to starting the work or ordering of the materials. 1.17. The subject matter herein and any drawings and data attached are the property of the Client. It is to be held confidential, used only as authorized and returned on request. At the completion of the contract, all drawings and data are to be returned to the Client. 1.18. Work shall be judged as unacceptable by the Client when found to be defective or contrary to the plans, specifications, specified codes, or accepted standards of good workmanship. 1.19. The Contractor shall promptly correct all work found unacceptable by the Client whether observed before or after substantial completion and whether fabricated. Cost of correction of unacceptable work shall be at Contractor's expense. 1.20. The Contractor shall exercise all necessary care to avoid endangering personnel and facilities. The Contractor shall provide all barricades, caution tape, signs, etc. as required, ensuring the safety of everyone in the facility. All barricades and limited access areas created by the Contractor must have prior approval from the owner. 1.21. The Contractor shall comply with all current Owner safety requirements in addition to all other current safety requirements established by jurisdictional agencies. The Contractors shall be licensed to work in the jurisdiction.
