Town of Cloverland, Vilas County Requesting Bids for Culvert Replacement Pickerel Lake Rd The Town of Cloverland is Requesting Proposals From Qualified Contractors for the Replacement of a Culvert on Pickerel Lake Road at Pickerel Creek, to Be Completed During the 2026 Construction Season. Work Includes Removal of Existing Culverts (Including a Previously Buried Culvert), Installation of a Town-supplied 95 Prime Prime *67 Prime Prime * 84' Poly-coated Corrugated Steel Pipe Arch Culvert With Gaskets and Bands, Headwalls and Wingwalls, Backfilling, Slope Grading, Erosion Control, Placement of 4 Inches of Topsoil, Seeding, Asphalt Paving (20 Feet Wide by 2.25 Inches Thick Over a Length of 100 Feet), Full Traffic Control Including a Signed Detour, Utility Coordination, Water Diversion, and All Incidental Work. The Subgrade Shall Consist of 1/4 ^ Prime Prime Cabc Compacted (26 Feet Wide by 8 Inches Thick Over the Length of 100 Feet). All work shall be bid as a lump sum, exceptfor placement of approximately 1,500 tons of fill for 2:1 slopes, which shall be itemized as a unit price per cubic yard. All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Best Management Practices (BMPs). 1. Traffic Control and Detour - Furnish, install, and maintain traffic control devices in accordance with MUTCD standards. - A full road closure is required. - Establish and sign a detour using Boot Lake Road, Star Lake Road, and Camp 12 Road. - Submit a traffic control and detour plan to the Town for approval before mobilization. Site Preparation & Erosion Control Install erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with WIDNR BMPs. - Protect nearby waterways and environmentally sensitive areas. - The Town will remove all trees within the work zone prior to construction. Culvert Removal and Disposal Excavate and remove the existing culverts. - Remove a previously buried culvert identified at the site. - Properly dispose of all removed materials off-site. Culvert Installation Install the Town-supplied 95" x 67" x 84' poly-coated culvert, including gaskets, bands, headwalls, and wingwalls. - Ensure proper alignment, grade, and structural installation. - Backfill in compacted lifts usingTown-supplied fill. - Construct 2:1 side slopes, blended into the existing terrain. - Placement ofslope fill shall be paid at the unit price per cubic yard.
