The City of Aurora, IL invites you to bid on the anticipated construction of a reinforced concrete slab for the Aurora Airport. This slab will connect to an existing concrete slab located at the Aurora Municipal Airport 43W636 US Route 30 Sugar Grove, IL 60554. The slab will be used to support a salt shed. The City of Aurora reserves the right at any time and for any reason to cancel this Invitation, to accept or reject any or all quotes or portion thereof or accept an alternate quote. The City reserves the right to waive any immaterial defect in any quote, or technicality, informality or irregularity in the quotes received. The City may seek clarification from any bidder at any time and failure to respond promptly is cause for rejection. Permits and bonds are not required for this project. PREPARATION Preparation shall include: o Requesting utility location through the JULIE system. NOTE: Any utilities requiring relocation will NOT to be performed by the vendor. o Excavation o Subgrade preparation o Installation & compaction of 6 inches of CA-6 aggregate gravel base STRUCTURE o The reinforced concrete slab will be 6 inches thick with a 12 inch thick perimeter edge. o The slab dimensions shall be equal to the existing adjacent slab (approximately 50 feet x 26 feet). o The reinforcement shall include 6 inch x 6 inch x 6 inch squares & 6 gauge, welded wire mesh with #4 rebars doweled into the existing slab every 2 feet on center. o Concrete compressive strength to be a minimum of 4000psi. o Concrete sealer shall be incorporated into the mix and shall meet the specifications of OzingaShield or its equivalent. o Final product shall have a hard trowel/machine finish with control joints. CLEAN UP o Dispose of all excavated material and debris from the job site. NOTE: The City of Aurora, IL will fill out a LPC-663 form for Illinois Clean Construction or Demolition Debris disposal.
