Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Boaz, Alabama. Completed plans call for the addition of a theater / auditorium; for the demolition of a theater / auditorium; for the renovation of a theater / auditorium; and for site work for a theater / auditorium.

** As of October 16,2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded in late November.** Snead State Community College is planning the total renovation of the existing Bevill Performing Arts Center with the addition of a new entry lobby and black box theater. Scope includes complete replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as theatrical technical systems. Only general contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to the pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Community College System in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the Bid Documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids must be submitted on the proposal forms furnished by the Architect or on copies thereof. All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provision of Title 34, Chapter 8. Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the architect; the bidder must show such evidence by clearly displaying its current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. a. Selective demolition, of specific portions of the existing Bevill Center building including front entry steps, various interior partitions, exterior site features. New 2-story building structures at the new entrance lobby and new Black Box theater, including steel frame, metal floor decking and poured concreted structural elements. c. New 2-story building envelope including: new metal cladding over vapor barrier and nailable insulation on metal studs, new curtainwall windows and doors, new roof. d. New standing seam metal roof overlay of existing metal rook system. e. Sitework improvements including: new and relocated utilities, drainage systems, sidewalks, and, landscaping. f. New mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. New generator. g. New stairs and elevator. h. New interior partitions, ceiling systems, finishes, doors and hardware. 1.
