Bids are invited for several unit price items of work, including approximately 14,000 LF of 24" HDPE pipe with associated valves, fittings, and other appurtenances. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Vernon or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. This project will be partially funded with Federal funds from the United States Department of Commerce. Economic Development Administration and therefore is subject to the Federal laws and regulations associated with that program. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Vernon for a period not to exceed 90 calendar days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
