DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This work shall include, but is not limited to, construction of a new train station and all appurtenances in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. COMPLETION DATE: This work shall be completed by within 18 months of the Notice to Proceed, which the Completion Date is expected to be June 30, 2027 BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. INDIANA REQUIREMENT: Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Please note that the Hammond Contracting Board only meets once per month, at the first Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Inspection Department Conference Room. The deadline for submitting an application and required information for a Hammond License is one week prior to the meeting. For this bid, the next deadline to submit an application is November 24, 2025 and then corresponding meeting date is December 1, 2025.
