Manton Heights Basketball Court Resurfacing The Housing Authority of the City of Providence Rhode Island is accepting sealed bids from qualified vendors for the Manton Heights Basketball Court Resurfacing project located in Providence, RI Address all pre-bid questions or requests for information pertaining to this project and bid documents to Patrick Smythe, Sr. Project Manager (psmythe@provhousing.org). All RFIs must be submitted in writing no later than Friday, August 15, 2025, by 04:00 PM EST The Providence Housing Authority Manton Heights Basketball Court Resurfacing project is located between 29 Salmon Street, Providence, RI 02909 and 468 Manton Avenue, Providence, RI 02909. The work encompassed in this project shall include, but is not limited to the following: 1. Site Assessment and Preparation: a. Evaluate the current condition of the basketball court including areas of damage (cracks, holes, low areas, etc.) b. Fencing - i. If the permanent fencing needs to be removed to perform any work, it is the contactor's responsibility to remove it and reinstall it at the end of the project. ii. If any temporary fencing is needed, it is the contractor's responsibility to provide it. iii. If any permanent fencing is damaged, it is the contractor's responsibility to replace it at no cost to the Authority. 2. Surface Preparation/Cleaning: a. Power wash the entire court surface to remove dirt, moss, mold, algae, old paint, debris, etc. b. Remove any vegetation and/or encroaching grass around the perimeter of the court. 3. Patch and Repair Damage: a. Fill surface cracks with acrylic crack filler or patching material. b. Level low spots using a squeegee and resurfacer compound. c. Sand or smooth any patched areas as needed. 4. Apply Acrylic Resurfacer (SportMaster Acrylic, Plexipave Acrylic, Nova Sports, or equivalent): a. Apply a minimum of 2 coats of acrylic resurfacer using a squeegee. b. Ensure a smooth and level surface has been achieved. The contractor shall notify the PHA in writing if additional coats of product are required. 5. Apply Acrylic Color Coating (SportMaster, Dyco, Kelley Technical Coatings, or equivalent): a. Apply a minimum of 2 coats of premium-grade acrylic color coating with a squeegee. b. Apply each coat in opposite directions to ensure even coverage and prevent stripes. c. The color scheme will be determined by the owner. 6. Layout and Paint Regulation Lines: a. Measure and tape all lines (sidelines, baselines, half-court line, center circle, key/paint areas, free throw lines, 3-point lines, etc.). b. Paint all lines using high-durability, UV-resistant paint (color TBD). 7. Cleanup and Final Inspection: a. Allow the surface to fully cure (24-48 hours). b. Remove all equipment, materials, and waste from the site. c. Inspect the court for quality, straight lines, color consistency, cleanliness, and safety. d. If the permanent fencing was removed, the reinstallation will be done to the satisfaction and acceptance of the PHA.
