all bidders must comply with all provisions in law relative to the work covered by this invitation. all bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the type construction herein described as required by tennessee code annotated, title 62, chapter 6. the bidder's name, license number, classification and expiration date must be placed on the envelope containing the contractor's bid. each proposal must be accompanied by a bidder's bond on the form obtained in the proposal from a surety company acceptable to the city of dayton, or a cashier's check or certified check made payable to the city of dayton, for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bids. a 100% contract bond will be required. all resident inspection will be coordinated by the engineer. attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. the city of dayton, in accordance with title iv of the civil rights acts of 1964 (42 u.s.c. 2000d) and 49 cfr, part 23, non-discrimination in transportation, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that disadvantaged business enterprises are afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened. bids will be required to remain open for acceptance or rejection for one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days after the date of opening bids. for further information, communicate with allen & hoshall, 5746 marlin road, suite 102, chattanooga, tn 37411. (423) 892-1203. question deadline 08/26/2025 a bidder who discovers discrepancies or omissions with the project bid documents shall immediately notify the owner's engineer of the matter. a bidder that has doubt as to the true meaning of a project requirement may submit to the owner's engineer a written request for interpretation by the deadline established by the owner's engineer and no later than 2 days prior to bid opening.
