Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is undertaking remediation work at multiple sites along the Alaska Highway (Highway 97) in northern British Columbia. The Project is focused on bringing the Maintenance Camps into alignment with the general management goals related to federal contaminated sites as defined by the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP). The Project is intended to reduce long-term financial liability and ecological risks to the standard of care required by PSPC policy. The remediation work will be conducted at 3 Sites along the Alaska Highway. Sikanni STF is at the Sikanni Maintenance Camp located at kilometer 254 of the Alaska Highway. JJJ (Triple J) STF is located south of Fireside, BC, at approximately kilometer 834 of the Alaska Highway. KM713 STF is located north of Muncho Lake, BC, at the gravel pit at kilometer 713 of the Alaska Highway. The Scope of Work under this Contract includes operation and maintenance of the STF, relocation of compliant soil to onsite stockpiles and offsite disposal of contaminated soil and water. Details of the site are provided in the attached proposed schedule, including the inside dimensions and current approximate volume. The primary contaminants of concern (COCs) in soil are petroleum hydrocarbons. No infrastructure at the camps will be available to the Contractor. The Contractor’s use of the sites shall be limited to the designated work areas for the Project. This is the Phase 2 solicitation following an Invitation to Qualify.
