SCOPE OF WORK. The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. The project involves asphalt concrete reconstruction/rehabilitation of existing streets, pedestrian accessibility improvements including curb ramps, restoration of pavement markings and striping. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer. No allowances for cost adjustments will be made if a Bidder fails to adequately examine the Project site before submitting a Bid. No bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City. All bid forms including all schedules attached thereto must be filled in and completed. The work consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as described in detail in the Bidding and Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications to construct the project. Major work components include asphalt concrete reconstruction/rehabilitation of existing streets, restoration of traffic signal loops, restoration of pavement markings and striping and all related work as per plans and specifications. Each bid must be accompanied by cash or a certified check or a cashier's check or bidder's bond made payable to the City of South El Monte for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total contract price. In accordance with provisions of Section 3300 of the California Public Contract Code, City of South El Monte has determined that the contractor shall possess a valid Class A California Contractor s License. Failure to possess such license may render the bid as non-responsive and bar the award of the contract to that nonresponsive Bidder. The successful Contractor and subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City of South El Monte. This project is subject to the requirements of SB 854. Prevailing wages shall be paid to all workers in accordance with California Labor Code 1771. All Bidders and listed subcontractors must be currently registered with the California State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5 prior to submitting a Bid.
