The work covered by the Contract Documents includes the following: Contract 24-1 Village of Matamoras Water Distribution System Improvements Construction of 6,630 lineal feet of 6-inch water main; 200 lineal feet of highway crossing via bore and jack; 21 gate valves; 14 hydrants; 94 house service lines; 2,500 lineal feet of service tubing; 750 square yards of trench restoration; 19,300 square feet of sidewalk replacement; grading and seeding; traffic control and telemetry; together with necessary appertaining work. The engineer's estimated construction cost for Contract 24-1 Base Bid is $1,650,000. Proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond meeting the requirements of Sec.153.54 ORC executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio in the full amount of the proposal. In lieu of a BID BOND, a certified check or cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal will be accepted. During the Contract Time, the Contractor and each Subcontractor shall be enrolled in and good standing in the Drug-Free Workplace (DFWP) Program or a similar program approved by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. A cashiers' check payable to the Village of Matamoras or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by the Village, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a Contract, if given the award. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time of the opening of the Bids.
