Only construction contractors within the meaning of the Act respecting the qualification of construction contractors (1975, L.Q., c. 53) who have their principal place of business in the Province of Quebec or, where an intergovernmental agreement is applicable to Quebec, in a province or territory covered by that agreement, are authorized to bid on the work. Tenders must be accompanied by a bid bond equivalent to 10% of the amount of the tender, made payable to the Municipality of Stratford, or by a bid bond in the same amount, valid for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the tender opening. This bid bond must be exchanged, at the signing of the contract, for a performance bond and a bond for pledges, materials and services. Each of these guarantees must correspond to 50% of the contract price.
