Renovation of a water / sewer project in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Question Cut Off Date: 9/8/2025 10:00:00 AM (CT) Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening of Bids will not be answered. All questions pertaining to the bid are to be submitted through online. ALL questions and contact concerning the meaning or intent of the Bidding document shall be directed to the Johnson County Purchasing Administrator: Nicole Averell (913-715-0595 / nicole.averell@jocogov.org). Project improvements include bar screen replacement; washer compactor replacement; screenings conveyance system replacement; dry weather pumps replacement; suction and discharge piping modifications; wet well modifications; slide gates replacement; installation of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) modifications; associated electrical improvements; classified space interior building modifications; site work; and other associated work. These improvements are recommended to address reduced pumping capacity, increased flow to the mechanical treatment facility system, and NFPA 820 compliance requirements. Bidders shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the total amount of their bid. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas. accordance with K.S.A. 79-1008 through 79-1015, upon award of contracts greater than $10,000, non resident contractors or subcontractors that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State are required by law to register with the Director of Taxation and file an acceptable bond as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening. No bidder shall in any way, directly or indirectly, discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment or any other person because of age, race, color, disability, sex, national origin or religious creed, or other circumstance prohibited by federal state or local law, rule or regulation. The County reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder(s) for the work covered by the bid and to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted. Demolish and replace (4) bar screens in pieces o Demolish and replace conveyor & install (2) washer compactors o Influent channel structural and concrete improvements o Demolish and replace (4) dry weather pumps and piping o Dry weather valve vault modifications o Demolish and replace magnetic flow meter in meter vault o Replace (2) slide gates o Electrical room modifications o Replace control panels, circuits and conduit o Relocate gas detection panel o Replace asphalt pavement & additional drive space with sidewalk
