Project improvements include bar screen replacement; washer compactor replacement; screenings conveyance system replacement; dry weather pumps replacement; suction and discharge piping modifications; wet well modifications; slide gates replacement; installation of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) modifications; associated electrical improvements; classified space interior building modifications; site work; and other associated work. These improvements are recommended to address reduced pumping capacity, increased flow to the mechanical treatment facility system, and NFPA 820 compliance requirements. Bidders shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the total amount of their bid. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas. accordance with K.S.A. 79-1008 through 79-1015, upon award of contracts greater than $10,000, non resident contractors or subcontractors that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State are required by law to register with the Director of Taxation and file an acceptable bond as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening.
