Site work and paving for a road / highway in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Congress/Sleeper/A Street Improvements Roadway reconstruction of Sleeper Street between Seaport Boulevard and Congress Street, A Street between Melcher Street and Congress Street, and Congress Street between Boston Wharf Road and Sleeper Street to provide improvements to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular safety and streetscape improvements. Question Deadline 09/12/2025 All questions as to the interpretation of the Invitation For Bids, Purchase Description and Specifications, Evaluation Criteria and all other contract documents shall be submitted in writing to the Official. No questions will be answered unless received by the Official at least seventy-two hours prior to the expiration of the time set for filing bids. MANDATORY SITE VISITS TO REVIEW THE PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION Scheduled Site Visit #1: The Contractor shall request that the Project Manager/Field Engineer, the Contract Arborist, and the City Arborist visit the site and review in the field the specific trees to remain and/or be protected and maintained and removed before construction begins. Tree trunk root protection fencing details and locations and maintenance operations and scheduling of subsequent field visits will be reviewed in the field with the Contractor on the first site visit. Scheduled Site Visit #2: A second site visit shall be arranged by the Contractor after the tree protection fencing and trunk protection is installed to review, add to and/or adjust the location and extents of the protections and coverings. Scheduled Site Visit #3: A third site visit shall be arranged by the Contractor after the paving demolition to review relocation of tree protection fencing to limits of proposed tree pit and planting strip locations, to review tree roots at extents of planting strips in order to determine if tree spading and root relocation is desired or hand excavation is preferred at excavation limits, and to review loaming, fine grading and mulching within all tree pits and planting strips. Scheduled Site Visit #4: A site visit shall be arranged by the Contractor for the Contract Arborist, City Arborist and Project Manager/Field Engineer at the end of construction for permission to remove and dispose of the Tree Protection Fencing and Trunk Protection and finish work at tree pits and park strips. Monthly Site Visits: Regular Tree Inspections by the Contract Arborist shall be required to review the health of the trees to be protected and maintained that are impacted by Construction. Site visits are to occur monthly during active construction adjacent to the trees, whether the trees are in leaf or dormant and as directed by the Project Manager/Field Engineer. Unscheduled Site Visits: may be required such as for Damage Reporting, safety event and/or unknown Structural Root is encountered that may need to be protected.
