Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) ** Please note: There has been 2 new addenda added for this tender ** Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/08/21 03:00:00 PM NDT .1 Work under the lump sum portion of each contract shall include labour and material required to perform scheduled inspection and testing of equipment covered by the contract. This shall include all sprinklers, standpipes and fire pump systems in the buildings. The work shall be confined to that requiring the services of an agency authorized by permit from the authority having jurisdiction. 2 Except as otherwise instructed, the Contractor shall supply and pay for all labour, materials, test instruments, tools, accessories and consumables for the performance of inspection and testing of all sprinklers, standpipes and fire pump systems in the buildings. .3 Without restricting any of the clauses (a) through (e) below, the lump sum component of this contract is to include all testing and inspections of the above-described systems and associated components, in accordance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 25, "Inspection, Testing, and maintenance of Water Based Fire Protection Systems", latest edition. Illustrative examples of the work to be performed by the Contractor under the lump sum portion of this contract, include but are not limited to the following: (a) Inspect and test the sprinkler systems, standpipe systems and fire pump systems of the buildings covered under this contract and undertake recommended corrective action for defective, deficient parts or components or items failing to pass inspection as per NFPA 25. (b) Provide and replace, when necessary, renewable rubber gaskets, rubber clapper facings, and renewable valve discs for control valves. Perform field service adjustments for all control and alarm devices associated directly with the sprinkler system. (c) A report detailing each inspection shall be prepared as per NFPA 25 and similar to the sample reports contained therein. The report shall include record of work done, results obtained and any observations or recommendations. Report to be submitted to the Director or their designated representative. (d) The Standard Report of Inspection contained in the NFPA 25 (or latest Edition) is to be followed in conjunction with the manufacturer's recommendation for testing and servicing the sprinkler systems. Two copies of this report must be forwarded to the Director or designate of the Area in which the work is being performed within 48 hours of each inspection. A copy of this report is also to be sent to the authority having jurisdiction. (e) Report immediately following the inspection, all conditions requiring immediate repair or attention noted to the Director or their designated representative. (f) Each year of the Contract, the Contractor will be required to co-ordinate one of their quarterly inspections with the Fire Alarm Contractor's annual inspections so that both parties are on complete simultaneous system checks as per their respective contracts. The Director's Representative will co-ordinate this requirement. (Required annually by CAN/ULC S536-97, Standard for Inspections and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems.) .4 The Contractor is not required under the lump sum portion of a contract to make replacement or repairs necessitated by reasons of negligence, vandalism, or misuse of the equipment or by any other cause beyond the Contractor's control except ordinary wear and tear. The Contractor shall not be required to make safety tests or to install new attachments or additional controls or to make replacements mentioned herein with parts or devices of different design, not required at the time of submission of tenders, that shall after that time be recommended or directed by any insurance company or laboratory, or governmental authority.
