2023 Capital Bond Project Phase 1 Hawthorne Elementary School Contract No. 2- Mechanical Construction (MC) Question Deadline 09/02/2025 at 5:00 PM ET All Pre-bid Requests for Information (RFIs) or Clarifications must be submitted on AIA Document G716-2004 and sent to the following individuals by email: (1) Erik Wilson, MEMASI, erik.wilson@memasidesign.com Toya Davis, MEMASI, toya.davis@memasidesign.com (3) Chris Hanaburgh, Arris Contracting Company, chanaburgh@arriscontracting.com; (4) Alexis Smith, Arris Contracting Company, asmith@arriscontracting.com; (5) Eric Strack, Director of Facilities, estrack@mtplcsd.org. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Mount Pleasant Central School District in the form and subject to the conditions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders. The accepted low bidder will be required to furnish specified insurance as well as payment and performance bonds for the full contract sum. No bidder shall withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the bid opening, except as permitted by General Municipal Law 103(11). Any contracts resulting from this bid solicitation will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder furnishing the required security within forty-five (45) days of the date of the opening of bid proposals or rejected by the Board of Education of the Mount Pleasant Central School District in its sole discretion. Bids shall be subject to the discretionary right reserved by the Board of Education to waive any technical defects, irregularities, informalities, accept or reject any alternatives in a bid proposal, to request additional information from any bidder or to reject any or all bid proposals and advertise for new bid proposals, if in its judgment, the best interest of the School District will thereby be promoted. ** Bid date info :Bidders shall submit one (1) original signed and sealed bid, and two (2) copies. All envelopes containing bids shall bear on the face of the sealed, opaque envelope the words "HAWTHORNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (NYSED #66-08-01-06-0-002-012)". Bidders assume full responsibility for having their bids deposited on time and at the place specified. Each bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail or delivery method selected as well as in handling of mail and/or delivered packages by employees of the District. Bids received after the time specified on the date specified will not be accepted and will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Fax and/or electronically transmitted bids will not be accepted. A. Extent of each type of masonry work is indicated on drawings and schedule. B. This Section includes unit masonry assemblies consisting of the following: 1. Concrete unit masonry. 2. Brick masonry. 3. The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and services required to remove existing frames, doors and hardware as required to install new frames, doors, hardware, glazing, etc. In general, the work under this section includes the following: 1. The removal of all necessary portions of existing frames, doors, hardware, and related entrance material to permit the installation of new material as specified hereafter. Material removed shall be disposed of by contractor or salvaged as directed by the architect and/or owner. 2. Removal of existing doors and frames where indicated. 3. The furnishing and installation of frames, doors, hardware, glazing and caulking as required for a complete installation including all necessary cleaning and adjustments. B. The following types of doors, frames and accessories are required: 1. Heavy Wall Tube Aluminum-Framed Systems 2. Monumental Aluminum Stile and Rail Doors 3. Glazing 4. Hardware 5. Caulking Provide removal systems as indicated and as required for removal and/or abandonment of systems, equipment and devices, etc. made obsolete by this Project, and as required for removal and remodeling by other trades. A. Safe and Secure Storage of Construction Materials B. Fencing - Project; Material storage areas; Container/Refuse areas C. Gates - Manned during working hours; locked and secure off hours. D. Sidewalk bridges, security barriers, etc. reference "Exterior Renovations" E. Worker identification system F. Worker access both horizontal and vertical in occupied buildings H. Debris removal. I. Ventilation of workspaces J. Exiting K. Fire and hazard prevention L. No Smoking M. Fire extinguishers N. Temporary sprinklers (if any) O. Smoke detectors (temporary) P. Fire watch and maintenance of existing fire alarm systems Q. Storage of gas and welding equipment R. Noise abatement procedures S. Construction fume controls T. Off-Gassing/bake out procedures U. Material Safety Data Sheet log V. Asbestos Code Rule 56 W. Asbestos TEM X. Lead Abatement/Lead paint Y. Indoor Air Quality A. This document describes the products and execution requirements relating to furnishing and installing Grounding/Earthing and Bonding for Communications Systems. 1. Work of this Section is part of Filed Sub-Bid Section 260000. B. This section includes minimum requirements for the following: 1. Grounding/Earthing System. 2. Telecommunications Grounding Busbar (TGB). 3. Telecommunications Main Grounding Busbar (TMGB). 4. Telecommunications Bonding Backbone (TBB). 5. Rack Grounding/Earthing and Bonding. C. All cables and related terminations, support and grounding/earthing hardware shall be furnished, installed, wired, tested, labeled, and documented by the Contractor as detailed in this document and on the drawings. D. Product specifications, general design considerations, and installation guidelines are provided in this document. Quantities of grounding/earthing products, typical installation details and cable routing are provided on the drawings. If this document is in conflict, with the drawings the drawings take precedence. The successful vendor shall meet or exceed all requirements for the cable system described in this document. 1. The Card access system basis of design is Avigilon ACS with the latest software and licensing at the time of installation. a. The existing ACS panels shall remain and addition Avigilon access control panel(s) added. Refer to the Security drawings for additional information. Contractor to run new cabling to the new card readers. Contractor to provide new door contacts, card readers, and power supplies where required. b. Contractor shall provide programming of the ACS and integration with the VMS and the existing Mass Notification System (Informacast). 2. The Video management system basis of design is Avigilon with the latest software and licensing at the time of installation. Contractor shall tie in the new and existing cameras to the Town's existing system. Provide a new NVR if the existing NVR does not have enough capacity. a. VMS to be integrated with ACS. 3. The Intrusion detection system shall be DMP intrusion panel (new panels only if required), contractor use existing panels. This panel is for the motion detection, door contacts, and panic buttons and will be set to 24 hour alarm to the call center. 4. The Contractor shall provide a fully integrated Security System and applicable wire and cable for this project. 5. The electrical contractor shall provide all back boxes, conduit, 120VAC power, and fire alarm relays as indicated on the security drawings. 6. The contractor shall provide all category cabling and fiber for all related IP security devices and switching that is related to the security system. 7. The contractor shall provide coordination with security door hardware. Coordinate door hardware with the Architect and the hardware engineer. Refer to Division 8 for additional scope of work. 8. The contractor shall be responsible for providing complete, and working systems. 9. All penetrations shall contain UL listed fire stopping as required by code which shall be installed by the Contractor or general contractor/construction manager. 10. All door hardware is by the division 8 contractor. 11. All device cabling shall be routed to the termination points as shown on the security riser system drawing and part plans on where the security data gathering panels, transformers, and Power Supplies, etc. located therein. The Contractor shall provide copper cabling from the data gathering panels to the doors, cameras within 295' shall be category 6 4 pair UTP cable and Game Changer 4 pair extended ethernet cabling for network devices more than 295 feet from the MDF. 12. Related Work: The following items are not included in this Section and will be performed under the designated Sections. Contractor to coordinate with the following. Refer to each trade construction documents for additional scope of work: a. Division 27 Sections - TELECOMMUNICATIONS b. Division 8 - OPENINGS c. Division 11 Sections - VEHCLE AND PEDESTRIAN EQUIPMENT d. Division 25 - INTEGRATED AUTOMATION e. Division 26 - -ELECTRICAL
