This Notice of Proposed Procurement (NPP) is an advisory to the industry for the upcoming Two Stage Procurement process that BGIS will be issuing for a General Contractor to provide construction services for the Replace Generators 1 & 2 at 125 Sussex Dr, Ottawa, ON. This is a notice of proposed procurement only. There is no submission required at this stage. Project Background: BGIS is looking to replace two 400 kW base building emergency generators located at 125 Sussex Dr, Ottawa, ON (Lester B. Pearson facility). The full scope of work, to be described in the Invitation to Tender, includes electrical, mechanical (fuel) and structural works. The scope for each discipline will include demolition and new works. The decommissioning consists of removal of the existing tenant generator, ventilation/cooling piping, fuel system components including day tank and associated components and removing existing electrical distribution equipment such as distribution panels, feeders, breakers, etc. Project Description: Remove existing emergency base building generators. Disconnect and remove existing electrical distribution equipment. Disconnect and remove existing fuel infrastructure including day tanks, fuel transfer system and associated piping, controls and exhaust stack. Site preparation, excavate and form concrete pads complete with frost protection to install new load bank, mobile docking station, external fuel storage tank and new tenant emergency generator. Concerns/Constraints: Compliance with applicable codes including, but not limited to, CSA C22.1-21- Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C282-19 - Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings, CSA B139-19- Ontario Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment, Ontario Building Code (OBC), National Building Code (NBC).
