Scope of Work The contractor shall provide bulk waste, leaf & limb, and loose-leaf collection to all City approved/occupied residential units (accounts) within the city limits of New Bern. Yard waste, bulk waste items, and appliances generated by residential customers shall be collected weekly, on a year-round basis. Loose-Leaf collection shall occur seasonally from November 1st to the last day of February on a weekly basis per City's loose-leaf service zone schedule. The City of New Bern is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide bulk waste, leaf & limb, and loose-leaf collection to residents throughout the city's municipal boundary, which currently encompasses 30.38 square miles. The city currently provides bulk waste, leaf & limb, and loose-leaf collection for approximately 14,500 residential units. Bulk Waste (brown & white goods) and Leaf & Limb collection are currently provided once a week to each residential unit shown on the service schedule map. Loose-Leaf collection is provided seasonally from November 1st through the end of February. This seasonal service is provided weekly to each residential unit per the included Loose-Leaf service zone schedule. The City of New Bern owns and operates the disposal facility. A Proposal must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the City of New Bern in the amount of $10,000.00 in the form of a certified check or bank money order or a Bid bond (on the form attached).
