General Requirements Interior Back Archival Storage Closet Improvements Include: Wall Repairs o Patch and repair all existing holes and imperfections in the drywall to ensure a smooth and uniform finish. Shelving Removal o Remove all existing shelving units and brackets from walls and floors. o Box in exposed pipes with an access door. Flooring Replacement o Remove and dispose of existing carpet on the handicap ramp. o Install new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring with appropriate underlayment for durability and ease of maintenance on the ramp. o Sand and stain existing floors. Painting o Repaint all walls and ceilings using high-quality, low-VOC interior paint suitable for utility and storage areas. Lighting Upgrade o Remove existing lighting fixtures. o Install new ceiling lights to match Archival Research Room fixtures. ITB: Renovations for History Center and Museum 0717-2025 7 | P a g e Partition Wall Construction o Construct a full-height partition wall (floor to ceiling) to create a secure and enclosed area. o Finish the wall with Sheetrock on both sides and prepare for painting. Walls o Upgrade all registers and air returns. o Upgrade all switches and receptacle covers. o Seal all interior walls fully to the finished floor level, ensuring no visible gaps from the exterior. Door Installation o Install a 42" x 84" sliding barn door to provide functional and aesthetic access to the new enclosed area
