Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fenton, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

1.88 mi of constructing shared-use path and timber boardwalk along Silver Lake Road Connector Trail from Jennings Road to East Broad Street in the city of Fenton, Genesee County. This is a Local Agency project. 4% DBE PARTICIPATION REQUIRED Net classification required for this project is 4610 Fa In addition to the above minimum prequalification requirement for prime contractors this project includes a subclassification of Ea. If the prime contractor is not prequalified in this subclassification it must use a prequalified subcontractor. This subcontractor must be designated prior to award of the contract to the confirmed low bidder. Control Sec Job No Federal No TA 25000 207708A 25A0758 Completion Date: 6/27/2026 MIDOT - 2509 016 - Constructing Shared-Use Path and Timber Boardwalk Along Silver Lake Road Connector Trail This work consists of all tree removals and clearing of vegetation 3 inches or greater in diameter required for the project in accordance sections 201 and 202 of the Standard Specifications for Construction. This special provision identifies the price(s) that will be used in all payment adjustments for work related to HMA item(s) used in conjunction with this contract. If the Contractors bid is lower than the established base price any positive adjustment will use the Contractors bid in the calculation for the adjustment. If the Contractors bid is lower than the established base price any negative adjustment will use the base price established herein in the calculation for the adjustment. If the Contractors bid is higher than the established base price any positive adjustment will use the Contractors bid in the calculation for the adjustment. If the Contractors bid is higher than the established base price any negative adjustment will use the Contractors bid in the calculation for the adjustment. This work consists of designing, furnishing, installing, and load testing helical piles and bracket assemblies in accordance with the project plans, industry standard design methodology, the standard specifications, and this special provision. Install each helical pile at the location and to the elevation, minimum length, and load capacities shown on the plans. This work consists of the manufacture of structural precast concrete units and the storage, transportation, and erection of these elements including grouting in place. The elements covered under this special provision are the Concrete Boardwalk, as shown on the plans. Perform work in accordance with section 706 of the Standard Specifications for Construction except as modified herein. This work consists of installing concrete foundation for boardwalk construction in accordance with section 706 of the Standard Specifications for, except as modified by the details on the plans and this special provision. This work consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct the boardwalk as shown on the plans; including all wood, metal panels, hardware, fasteners, gate hinges and hardware, and related construction materials as called for on the plans. Ensure all work is done in accordance with this special provision and accompanying drawings, Local and State Codes, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the standard specifications. The work consists of furnishing and installing rustic split rail fence (detailed on the plans) at the locations shown on the plans, in accordance with section 808 of the Standard Specifications for Construction and as directed by the Engineer. This work consists of furnishing and installing concrete bumper blocks in accordance with the standard specifications, detail in Standard Plan R-74 series or as directed by the Engineer. This work consists of installing concrete curb and gutter in accordance with section 802 of the Standard Specifications for Construction and Standard Plan R-30 Series, except as modified by the details on the plans and this special provision. This work shall be done in accordance with the requirements of the Standard Specifications for Construction, section 806, except as herein described: The work shall consist of constructing earth grades by excavating and removing soil, aggregate, and/or other materials and placing embankment as necessary to develop the cross section and sub-grade specified in the plans for the pathway and adjacent greenbelt within the work zone. The work shall include the salvaging and stockpiling of selected materials; disposing of surplus or unsuitable material; furnishing, placing, and compacting of embankment materials; trimming of the earth grade and maintaining the work in a finished condition until acceptance by the Engineer. The work consists of installing new chain link fencing and gates, where noted on the plans, and in accordance with plan details. Ensure the work is done in accordance with sections 204 and 808 of the Standard Specifications for Construction This work consists of constructing riprap slope protection in accordance with section 813 of the Standard Specification for Construction except as modified herein. This work consists of procuring, installing and synchronizing the trailway use counter with the Genesee County Planning Commission, in the location shown on the plans. This work consists of furnishing and placing a timber rub rail to the guardrail posts or concrete bridge barrier railing, as detailed on the plans. Complete this work in accordance with section 912 of the Standard Specifications for Construction, this special provision, plan details, and as directed by the Engineer. This work consists of complying with the Department's construction management processes. The Department will manage this contract using the AASHTOWare Project Construction Materials (APCM) software. Ensure all change orders are approved using APCM. No paper documents, faxes, or other methods/media are permitted for change order approvals except as allowed by this special provision or specifically approved by the Engineer. This work consists of meeting MDOT's construction document management (CDM) system requirements. Submit all project documentation for this contract in electronic format and place it in MDOT's CDM system, unless otherwise noted in this special provision. No paper documents, in printed format (faxes, letters, etc.) are permitted except as allowed by this special provision or specifically approved by the Engineer. The Contractor is responsible for keeping all information in the CDM system up to date throughout the execution of the contract. This work consists of the required use of a prevailing wage and labor compliance (PWLC) system for all prevailing wage documentation as directed by the Engineer. Input all required certified payroll documentation into the PWLC system (LCPtracker) and update this documentation throughout the execution of the contract. Certified payroll information is to be submitted in the PWLC system per the time requirements in the 20SP-107D - Labor Compliance. This work consists of furnishing and installing galvanized metal tie rods, plate washers, lock washers and nuts, and acceptable soil and watertight sealant as filler to the access holes on the final 3 sections/2 joints of box culverts with openings of any size, unless otherwise detailed on the plans. This work consists of furnishing and installing a pedestal foundation with an alternate three anchor bolt assembly, including base plate, hardware, connectors, fittings, conduit, grounding, and all associated material necessary to complete the work. The construction, installation, treating and reconditioning of pipelines transporting gas vapors within cities, towns, subdivisions, suburban areas, or within private property boundaries, up to and including private meter settings of private industrial, governmental or other premises, more commonly referred to as ""distribution work,"" starting from the first metering station, connection, similar or related facility, of the main or cross country pipeline and including duct installation. Tunnel, shaft and caisson work of every type and description and all operations incidental thereto, including, but not limited to, shafts and tunnels for sewers, water, subways, transportation, diversion, sewerage, caverns, shelters, aquafers, reservoirs, missile silos and steel sheeting for underground construction. Open cut construction work shall be construed to mean work which requires the excavation of earth including industrial, commercial and residential building site excavation and preparation, land balancing, demolition and removal of concrete and underground appurtenances, grading, paving, sewers, utilities and improvements; retention, oxidation, flocculation and irrigation facilities, and also including but not limited to underground piping, conduits, steel sheeting for underground construction, and all work incidental thereto, and general excavation. For all areas except the Upper Peninsula, open cut construction work shall also be construed to mean waterfront work, piers, docks, seawalls, breakwalls, marinas and all incidental work. Open cut construction work shall not include any structural modifications, alterations, additions and repairs to buildings, or highway work, including roads, streets, bridge construction and parking lots or steel erection work and excavation for the building itself and back filling inside of and within 5 ft. of the building and foundations, footings and piers for the building. Open cut construction work shall not include any work covered under Tunnel, Shaft and Caisson work. : Excavation, site preparation, land balancing, grading, sewers, utilities and improvements; also including but not limited to, tunnels, underground piping, retention, oxidation, flocculation facilities, conduits, general excavation and steel sheeting for underground construction. Underground construction work shall not include any structural modifications, alterations, additions and repairs to buildings or highway work, including roads, streets, bridge construction and parking lots or steel erection.
