Site work for a road / highway in Boon, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The work consists of replacing the existing 2-inch hot mix asphalt surface over a sand base with a new 2-inch asphalt surface, installing 4 inches of aggregate base on the existing surface, crushing and shaping existing onsite materials, adding 2-foot wide gravel shoulders, and applying permanent pavement markings. Base line items include the access road, picnic area, boat launch roads, and parking areas. The contractor shall prepare and submit a proposed Progress Schedule after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The jobsite areas will be closed to the public during the contractor's performance of this project. All questions are due no later than 13 March 2026 **Location:** Monocle Lake Recreation Area (Day Use and Campground), South side of West Lakeshore Drive, approximately 2 miles northwest of Bay Mills, Hiawatha National Forest, Michigan, in Sections 13 and 14, T47N, R3W, Bay Mills Township, Chippewa County. Mailing address: Monocle Lake Recreation Area, Bay Mills Township, MI 49715. The estimated price magnitude of this project is the range between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction Completion Date: The Contractor can start onsite work on or before April 6, 2026. All work shall be complete by May 18, 2026. The Contractor shall prepare and submit a proposed Progress Schedule after their receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The jobsite areas will be closed off to the public during and throughout the contractor's performance of this project. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
