Description of Work: The work of this contract involves the removal of the existing culvert and placement of a new 36 Poly Coated CMP culvert per the attached plans. The culvert will be supplied by the WCRC. The existing culvert is very steep. The new culvert will have the downstream invert raised and fill placed to flatten the slope of the structure. The stream downstream of the culvert will have bank rock placed in the washed out area to stabilize the slopes and flatten the stream bottom grade. The contractor will be responsible for all items of work listed in the Bid Proposal and shown in the plans, including any required dewatering. The contractor will provide a plan to control the flow of water during construction of the box culvert. This dewatering plan must be approved by the Road Commission Engineer prior to any construction on this project. The cost of dewatering is to be included in the Lump Sum price of culvert replacement. Restoration will be required on all disturbed areas.
