Site work for a water / sewer project in Salina, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The contractor will provide a proposed start date based on days after contract award. The contractor will make every effort to limit the amount of downtime of the crane. The contractor will submit a preliminary work schedule with their proposal. This proposal is for replacement and repair of known issues and wear items as outlined below, recoating, and inspection of all components. Issues found during inspection will be quoted and approved or denied through the change order process further outlined at the end of this section. Without impact on the original design capacity of the Salina Pumped Storage Forebay Gantry crane, the Contractor shall perform the following scope of work to refurbish the subject equipment: 1) Replace all wire rope and rehabilitate drums as needed. 2) Replace all power delivery cabling/wire and replace power cable reel. Replace control station. Inspect control wiring. Replace control wiring as needed. 3) Inspect and rehabilitate all hooks, to include NDT, blast and paint, replace bearings/bushings, and inspect sheeves and pins. 4) Inspect all other sheeves and pins and at minimum, replace sheeve bearings/bushings. 5) Replace trolley and gantry wheel bushings and inspect and repair/replace axles as needed. 6) Test and inspect motors and replace bearings and seals. 7) Rehabilitate brake components. 8) Open and inspect gearboxes, replace seals and bearings and any other normal wear items. Inspect internal mechanisms, repair or replace as needed. 9) Any modifications or changes from in kind replacement must have an engineering stamp from a licensed Professional Engineer. 10) Anti-two block, limit switches, travel bumpers, and other safety components will be replaced as needed. If components are not present but recommended or required, include safety components as optional line items on the bid package options sheet. 11) Add an optional line item on the bid package options sheet for addition of a ladder with cage and platform with handrail to allow for inspection of trolley components. 12) Crane will be mechanically prepped (scraped, needle gun, etc.) primed as needed and painted. Areas of corrosion will be addressed with mechanical or chemical means. If a chemical rust remover is used, it must not create hazardous waste. No onsite media blasting is allowed. Any area of raw metal will be primed using a suitable primer compatible with the topcoat. Surface must be prepared according to the coating manufacturer's instructions when coating over an existing topcoat to ensure adhesion. Surfaces that have oil or grease contamination will be cleaned with an appropriate degreaser that does not create hazardous waste. Primer and Topcoat must be part of a two-component system (epoxy or polyurethane) that is suitable for the environment, to include high UV resistance. Material and finish color will be approved by GRDA before procurement. Coating will be free of sags, excessive fisheyes, pinholes and other defects. Final Dry Film Thickness will be verified per paint manufacturer's recommendations for the application and agreed to by GRDA and the contractor. This Request for Proposal is to assist the Grand River Dam Authority in rehabilitating and upgrading the Salina Pumped Storage 15 ton Forebay Gantry Crane. The Forebay Crane is a Model Number BB5913 manufactured by Stewart Cranes and installed in 1967. Additional equipment specifications, drawings, and OEM manuals have been provided. The subject crane is physically located at 620 S 4437 Rd Salina, OK. All Contractor personnel will be subject to GRDA's security screening process pursuant to this Agreement. Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted electronically on or before Wednesday 11 February 2026 at 2:00pm Central Time. No questions may be submitted orally, fax, phone, or email.
