The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is accepting bids for Overlay and Chip Seal MT-64 Mill and Fill Bozeman Area. PROJECT SITE: X-000064; MT-64 STARTING AT THE JCT OF US 191 HEADING EAST NORTHEASTERLY APPROXIMATELY 3.8 MILES ENDING JUST NORTHWEST OF THE MIDDLE FORK OF THE WEST GALLATIN RIVER BRIDGE Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials incidentals and traffic control to cold mill approximately 75,798 square yards of roadway at a depth of .15 as directed by MDT's project manager. The Contractor is responsible for hauling and disposal of the generated cold millings. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack and compact approximately 7,521 tons of _" Commercial Plant Mix Grade S 64-28 asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved .15 feet thick and approximately 34 feet wide. Contractor is responsible for test trailer, transport, and setup. If the Department decides to perform testing at an area lab, this bid item will be deleted from the contract. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the centerline and place reflective tabs after paving matching existing striping. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, roll and broom approximately 75,798 square yards of laid-in-place chip seal. The chip seal will be approximately 3.8 miles long and 34 feet wide. The contractor shall provide CHFRS-2P asphalt emulsion and Type 1 chips. Traffic control with pilot cars must be maintained each workday as determined by the Project Manager. The Contractor must provide enough pilot cars to keep traffic stops to a maximum of 15 minutes. The emulsion application rate for chip seals is estimated at .44 gallons per square yard. The cover material application rate is estimated at 25 pounds per square yard. Actual application rates will be based on the chip design and the actual field adjustments. If the cover material application rate of 25 pounds per square yard is not sufficient to provide a quality job, the Project Managers will jointly determine what the new application rate should be. The Contractor must furnish a water truck for dust control and wetting of chips. Arrangements must be made by the Contractor for acquiring water for wetting and sweeping. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the centerline and place reflective tabs prior to the chip seal. The Department will provide final striping. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and traffic control necessary to Fog Seal the project following completion of the Chip Seal. The Contractor shall provide CSS-1H asphalt emulsion diluted at a ratio of 50% oil and 50% water diluted by the supplier. Apply the Fog Seal at an estimated rate of 0.12 or 0.15 gallons ger square yard. If the application rate is not sufficient to provide a quality job, the Project Managers will jointly determine what the new application rate should be. All traffic must be kept off the fog seal until it has cured sufficiently to prevent traffic from tracking the emulsion as determined by the MDT project Manager. This time is estimated to be approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Contractor to be paid only for the raw CSS-1 H fog seal emulsion oil, not the added water. The quantity is estimated and may be changed accordingly. Contractor shall be responsible for all private property damage claims resulting from performance of the tasks described above. The State cannot execute a contract for construction to a Contractor who is not registered and may award the contract to the next responsive Contractor if registration is not completed in a timely manner. Offeror's certification is made in compliance with and in reference to 30-20-301, MCA and the terms defined therein. If Offeror determines the provisions of 30-20-301, MCA do not apply to Offeror or the contract to be awarded under this RFP, Offeror shall submit a statement setting forth in detail the basis for such determination. 3.1 Offeror does not have a practice, policy, guidance, or directive that discriminates against a firearm entity or firearm trade association during the term of any contract it is awarded under this solicitation; and b. Offeror will not discriminate against a firearm entity or firearm trade association during the term of any contract it is awarded as a result of this solicitation. 3.2 The Contractor determines the provisions of 30-20-301, MCA do not apply to the contract, the Contractor shall submit a statement setting forth in detail the basis for such determination. 3.3 Please confirm whether you are a governmental entity, are not a "company" that exists to make a profit or are a company with fewer than 10 full-time employees.
