Taxiway M between connectors M1 and M3 has seen a significant change in operations in the past few years with the addition of new cargo operations. The current pavement section was designed for a smaller, lighter fleet mix than currently utilizes the taxiway. Its current section is only 14" of concrete while new concrete sections from recent projects are 21". This pavement continues to deteriorate and has reached the point of requiring complete reconstruction. Previous attempts were made to extend its life, such as a 2" asphalt surface overlay, but those are failing. The most current pavement report is attached as Attachment 1.
