Installation of Electrical Service for EV Charging Stations as requested by the City of Cedar Rapids Facilities Maintenance Services Division . Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; no bid may be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days thereafter. Pre Bid Notes : Bids from companies who do not attend Background - The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the installation of Electrical Service for EV Charging Stations as requested by the Facilities Maintenance Service Division. 2.0 Scope of Work 2.1 Contractor shall verify site conditions, as well as charging station items provided by City. City will provide 6 dual chargers, for a total of 12 level-2 vehicle chargers. Specifications for the charging stations is provided in the attachment section. 2.2 Contractor shall install a dedicated electrical panel to meet the necessary requirements for 600-amp, single phase 120/240v service. 2.3 A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting is being held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 3:00pm at the City Services Center, Five Seasons Conference Room, 500 15 th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. Bids from companies who do not attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be deemed non-responsive. 2.4 Contractorshall work with Alliant Energy to prove a new service and new service requirements to the East side of the building. 2.5 Contractor shall provide a self-enclosed meter socket, panel board and wiring to provided EV chargers. 2.6 Contractor shall schedule and coordinate the final inspection with City staff to ensure the work meets safety and code compliance. 2.7 Contractor shall provide testing and commissioning of units once the installation is complete. Contractor shall test the system to ensure proper functionality, including checking for optimal charging performance and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications. 2.8 Contractor shall provide training and equipment demonstration of how to use the EV charger(s) to City staff. the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be deemed non-responsive.
