Renovation of a military facility in Fort Benning, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Period of Performance: 390 The purpose of this project is to replace an existing 125-ton York air-cooled chiller with a new high redundancy chiller to provide enhanced reliability and redundancy for cooling three separate buildings. The existing chiller serves as a critical component of the HVAC system, and its failure would result in the loss of air conditioning across all three facilities. The new chiller should offer superior efficiency, reliability, and redundancy capabilities to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted cooling. This scope of work includes all necessary mechanical, electrical, and structural modifications to complete the replacement, including concrete pad adjustments if required. DPW Project Number: 44538 Fort Moore Building Number: 36, 37, 38 Period of Performance: 390 Job Walk: TBD Proposal Due: TBD Bid Process: TBD The purpose of this project is to replace an existing 125-ton York air-cooled chiller with a new high redundancy chiller to provide enhanced reliability and redundancy for cooling three separate buildings. Objectives: 1. Remove the existing 125-ton York air-cooled chiller, size and install new high redundancy central chiller to supply buildings 36, 37, and 38. 2. Ensure high redundancy similar to the Trane model TCAA to prevent total cooling loss across three buildings in the event of equipment failure or maintenance. 1. New chiller shall have redundant control boards to prevent loss of more than 50% cooling capacity in the event of control board failure or maintenance. 2. New chiller shall have redundant circuits to prevent loss of more than 25% cooling capacity in the event of circuit failure or maintenance. 3. New chiller shall have isolation valves and power interlocks to allow for maintenance on individual circuits without shutdown of the entire chiller. 4. New chiller shall be configured to default "ON" if connection to the Building Management System is lost. 5. New chiller shall be configured to attempt automatic restart after power loss / power instability. 3. Perform all mechanical, electrical, and structural work necessary to support the chiller replacement. 4. Minimize disruption to building operations during the replacement process through coordination and temporary air conditioning. Mechanical Demo Work a. Isolate and remove existing 125-ton chiller from the HVAC system b. Disconnect all electrical power, control wiring, and mechanical piping from the chiller
