Project Description: The Project consists of the renovation of Normain Park, including but not limited to, site clearing, water, sewer and electric utilities, storm sewer system, concrete and asphalt pavement, irrigation, synthetic and natural grass athletic fields, fencing and masonry, located at 200 E. McKinley Ave, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans are available for examination at the Department of Planning and Community Development, City Hall, Mishawaka, Indiana. City Hall is located at 100 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana; and at the offices of the Engineer and Landscape Architect, V3 Companies, 510 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka Indiana. Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project Site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents and Specifications. The failure or omission of any Bidder to do any of the forgoing shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation with respect to its Bid. A certified check payable to the City of Mishawaka, Indiana by any bidder whose principal place of business is not in Indiana, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company whose place of business is in Indiana, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price before commencing work. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition, a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of final acceptance of the work will be required. Each bidder shall be required to complete the Bid Form included with these documents. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Mishawaka, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding and to make an award in the best interest of the City. No bid or bid security may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
