Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Sandusky, Ohio. Working plans call for the construction of a 43,000-square-foot fitness / recreation center; for site work for a fitness / recreation center; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As of December 18, 2025, construction has not started. A design / builder has been awarded. There is no firm timeline for when construction will start. The Sandusky Recreation Center is envisioned as an advanced, multipurpose public facility that will address the wellness, recreation, and community engagement needs of the residents of Sandusky and the surrounding region. The facility is designed to serve as a vibrant hub for active living, inclusive programming, and civic connection. The building will have a total floor area of approximately 43,000 square feet with a building footprint of 33,320 square feet. Key program components include: A full-size gymnasium Locker rooms Multi-purpose activity rooms Dedicated fitness areas Administrative offices An elevated walking/running track A water feature In addition to the building itself, the project scope includes all related site improvements such as parking, utility service connections, and stormwater management infrastructure.
