Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Tucson, Arizona. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Construct a two-bay aircraft maintenance hangar with a concrete foundation and floor slab, steel high-bay structure, standing seam metal roof, overhead cranes, motorized hangar doors and tracks, and complete fire alarm and fire suppression systems, including water storage tanks. The facility will support an aircraft maintenance unit and include administrative offices, tool room, supply and bench stock areas, storage, shop spaces, emergency shower and eyewash stations, locker rooms with showers, break areas, circulation, and administrative support spaces. The project also includes a fleet service terminal to support the transient alert function that will be displaced by the new construction, as well as overhead covered storage for the mobility barn and maintenance squadron. The scope of work includes construction of airfield pavements to provide aircraft access to the hangar, including clearing, excavation, base material placement, concrete pavement, asphalt shoulders, airfield markings, stormwater retention and drainage systems, lighting, and integration with a new airfield apron. A 500 kW generator will be provided to support the maintenance operations center in accordance with Air Force Manual 32-1062, along with one 120-ton air conditioning system. The project will demolish Building 4809 and Building 4826 and provide all supporting facilities such as utilities, communications, parking areas, sidewalks, passive force protection measures, and site improvements necessary for a complete and usable facility. Design and construction will be permanent and compliant with Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria, including antiterrorism and force protection requirements, and will be compatible with Department of Defense, Air Force, and installation design standards.
